DIX HILLS, NY – Suffolk County Community College limited Ramapo to just 21 shots on goal en route to a 4-0 shutout.
Suffolk dominated a flat Ramapo team with 3 first period goals. Chris Stubba opened the Sharks scoring at 8:31 on assists by Jared Vuolo and Sean Kelly. Stuba notched his second goal of the period, unassisted, at 13:22. Joe Mayer’s power play goal at 18:22 increased the Suffolk lead to 3-0. Thomas Gallo and Joe Bizzaro assisted on the goal.
Suffolk scored the only goal in the second period. With both Andre Vicari and Marc Concato serving minor penalties, Suffolk’s Jared Vuolo scored on the 5-3 advantage at 6:38. Chris Stubba and Joe Bizzaro were credited with assists. Stubba notched his third point of the game (two goals and an assist).
Neither team scored in the third period thus giving Suffolk goalie Conor O’Leary his first shutout of the season.
A frustrated Ramapo team incurred 20 minutes in penalties (five minors and a 10 minute unsportsmanlike conduct game misconduct penalty).
Ramapo’s next game is at home against Stevens on Friday, October 16.
