NEWARK, NJ – Stevens scored early and often in the first period to coast past Ramapo 4-1.
Michael Ferris opened the scoring for Stevens at 2:50 of the first period on an assist from Greg Caminneci. At 5:33, Marc Chiapperino teamed up with Robert Coffman to put the Ducks up 2-0. Just 9 seconds later, Victor Bech Hansen scored an unassisted goal to give Stevens a commanding 3-0. Ramapo finally settled down and didn’t allow another goal in the period.
Neither team scored in the second period. Stevens took a commanding 3-0 lead into the third period. With Marc Concato in the penalty box for elbowing, the Ducks upped their lead to 4-0 on a power play goal by Eric Heinowitz on an assist by Anthony Bruce. Midway through the period, Stevens took two minor penalties just 53 seconds apart. With a two-man advantage, Andrew Galascio scored at 13:38 on an assist by Matt Rose. That ended Matt Smith’s bid for a shutout.
That was the final game for the fall semester. Ramapo opens the second half of season on Sunday, January 17 against NJIT at the Prudential Center.
