The Roadrunners enter the final stretch of the 2017-18 season with back-to-back decisive victories against the Princeton Tigers and Stockton Ospreys, with scores of 11-2 and 7-3 respectively. The team scored a total of 18 goals and between the pipes netminder Sean Gordon allowed only five goals across the two games.
Now 12-7 on the season and on a four-game win streak, with a record of 8-3 in MCHC play and 4-4 against independent teams, the team is playing with a renewed force after suffering a string of losses prior to winter break. The team’s three-game losing streak during November and December was the longest endured by the Roadrunners in over a year and a half.
Ramapo also added a new offensive force to the roster. Forward Derek Sabato, formerly of the Division II Montclair Redhawks, joined the team over the winter break. Sabato is the brother of freshman forward David Sabato and will be wearing #19 for the team. Sabato wowed in his Roadrunners debut in the game against Princeton, scoring four goals.
In other roster news, the Roadrunners will greatly miss Pat Callinan, Steve Timmons, and Peter Petrozza, who are no longer players in the organization. The team wishes them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
