WHITEHALL, PA – Muhlenberg gave Ramapo all they could handle in a close hard fought road game 4-2 game.
Muhlenberg can out flying taking the play to Ramapo throughout the first period. Although the Mules had the better of the play earlier, it was the Roadrunners who scored first. Kyle Debel setup Matt Rose with a perfect pass and Rose tipped the puck into the right corner of the net at 7:48. Muhlenberg’s William Rafferty tied the score on a power play goal at 15:56. Ramapo would regain the lead at 18:42 on Dmitry Danilchik’s goal. Debel picked up the assist. Muhlenberg outshot Ramapo 22-14.
Ramapo took control of the game in the second period outshooting the Mules 12-8. Rose scored at 13:01 on assists by Danilchik and Debel. Debel closed out the second period scoring at 18:33. Danilchik and Rose assisted on the goal. Ramapo took a 4-1 lead into the locker room.
Both teams played missed scoring golden opportunities to score. Muhlenberg’s Tyler Tavormina scored the only goal of the period, his second goal of the game at 14:18.
After a slow first period start, Ramapo’s speed and hard-hitting proved too much for Muhlenberg. The game ended with Ramapo on top 4-2. Shot on goal were Roadrunners 42, Mules 40.
