EAST MEADOW, NY – Ramapo overpowers an ineffective Hofstra team to coast to a 9-2 victory.

Poor play in defensive zone proved costly for Ramapo. At only 3:09 of the first period, Hofstra’s John Voiklis picked up an errant pass and put the puck past Keith Gay. Ramapo got on the scoreboard when Dan Demarco converted on passes from Marc Concato and Josh Filipovits. With a Hofstra player in the penalty box, Kyle Debel took a pass from Anthony Carduo and skated around the Hofstra defense to break the tie at 14:05. The lead was short lived. With Keith Doherty in the penalty box for slashing, The Pride’s John Voiklis scored his second goal of the period to knot the score at two at 15:46. Although Ramapo out shot Hofstra 22-9, the score was 2-2 after one.

The rest of the game was total Ramapo domination. The Roadrunners bombarded Hofstra 29-6. The Pride could only manage three shots on goals in each the second and third periods. Ramapo’s offensive put five goals in the net to blow the game open. Robert Spetz, Keith Doherty 2, and Kyle Debel 2 scored the Ramapo goals. Debel’s two goals completed the hat trick. Dmitry Danilchik, Ethan Puso Anthony Carudo and Andre Vicari picked up assists. Ramapo ended the period with a 7-2 lead.

The third period wasn’t much different than the second. Vicari scored on a power play and Demarco scored a shorthanded goal, his second goal of the game, to end the scoring. The Roadrunners outshot The Pride 51-15.
