MOUNT VERNON, NY – Freshman Pat Anzano scored in the fourth round of a shootout to give Ramapo a 3-2 victory over Fordham.

FordhamWith the teams skating at four aside, Team Captain Nolan Ouelette put Ramapo ahead 1-0 at 2:35. Dmitry Danilchik assisted on the goal. The Roadrunners took a 1-0 lead into the locker room after the first period.

Rams John Oddo from Nick Allardi knotted the score at 1 at 12:35 in the second period. The Roadrunners regained the lead at 14:53, when defenseman Chris Scott took a pass from Pat Anzano and slipped it past the sprawled Fordham goalie. Two seconds later, Marc Concato served a bench minor penalty. Just 29 second into the power player, Cole Taylor tied the score on a pass from Ryan Flood at 15:24.

Neither team scored in the third period sending the game into a 5-minute sudden-death overtime. Once again, neither team could come put the puck in the net for the win. Both teams prepared for a shootout. Ramapo’s Chris Mecca went first and scored. Fordham’s Michael Gamby was up next and missed. Ramapo’s Andrew Galascio missed for Ramapo but Fordham’s George Pappous knotted the score. Chris Scott missed the third try for Ramapo. John Oddo was up for Fordham. If Oddo scored, the game would be over. However, Keith Gay came up big to stop Oddo. From the fourth round on, the teams proceed with a single player, sudden death shootout. Pat Anzano was up next for the Roadrunners and slipped the puck past Fordham goalie Joey Houser to put Ramapo into the lead. A Rams miss would give Ramapo the win; a Ram score would send the shootout into a fifth round. Keith Gay came out to meet Connor Davis. Davis deked to the left and tried to go around Gay but was stopped. The Roadrunners won the shootout and the game.

Ramapo’s next game is against Muhlenberg on Friday, October 30 in Allentown, PA
