MOUNT VERNON, NY – Ramapo College scored six goals in the first period, four within 3:40 at the start of the game, on route to an 11-0 routing of Columbia.
DJ Campbell opened the Ramapo scoring at 1:41 of the first period on assist by Pat Anzano. 39 seconds later at 2:20, Nolan Ouelette scored assisted by Andrew Galascio. Zach O’Connor from Ryan Worth upped the score to 3-0 at 3:22. 18 seconds later, Ouelette scored his second goal of the period at 3:40. With less than four minutes into the game, Ramapo held a 4-0 lead. The Roadrunners would add their fifth and sixth goal at 13:17 and 16:21. First Josh Filipovits scored from Anthony Carudo followed by Matt Rose from Filipovits. Ramapo shooters pounded 26 shots on goal in the period.
A different Lions team held Ramapo in check in the second period. The Roadrunners managed just ten shots on goal and scored only once. Filipovits scored his second goal of the night at 14:33. Anthony Carudo was credited his second assist of the game. Ramapo carried a 7-0 lead into the third period.
Columbia continued to frustrate Ramapo until the second half of the period. Like the first period, Ramapo bunched their goals together. Keith Henning scored an unassisted goal at 11:42. 28 seconds later Matt Clark scored from Galascio. 42 second after the last goal, at 12:52, Zach O’Connor scored his second goal of the game. Ethan Puso and Filipovits received assists. That was Filipovit’s third assist of the game. Galascio ended Rampapo’s scoring for the night at 14:57. The goal was unassisted.
Ramapo poured 50 shots on goal. 11 goals was the most goals scored by the Roadrunners this season. All skaters had at least one point except for Danilchik. Filipovis lead all scorers with one goal and three assists, Andrew Galascio had a goal and two assists.
Ramapo’s next game is tomorrow night at home against Fordham. Game time is 7:50 PM.
