MAHWAH, NJ – Three weeks of the 2018-19 campaign has passed and the season has started off with a bang! There wasn’t any doubt moving the team out of the MCHC and play an independent schedule was the right move if the program was to further advance. The big question was how would the Roadrunners fair? That question can be answered by the scores of the first four victories – 10-2, 8-1, 10-2, and 7-2. Victories were against Hofstra, Maryland, Rowan, and Western Connecticut. The results prove that the Roadrunners are a force with which to be reckoned. The only loss came at the hands of Division 2 Montclair State. A game Ramapo could have won. Two power play goals and a hot Montclair goalie sealed the Roadrunners fate. Defeat has a way humbling a team. It certainly rallied the team to come back the following weekend to thrash a strong Rowan team 10-2.

Ramapo has outscored its opponents 35-7 in the four victories. Of the 35 goals, 20 were scored in the second period and only one goal has been given up in the third period. The past three seasons has seen some very remarkable things happen. A league championship with a 26-1 record in the second season has been an amazing start for the newly resurrected program. But in the last three seasons, the team has never had the scoring punch to overpower opponents, now it has!

The top four scorers have a total of 60 points in the first five games – Chris Dressler 9 goals, 7 assists, 16 points; Kyle DeBel 5 goals, 8 assists, 13 points; Bobby Mulligan 7 goals, 3 assists, 10 points; Bobby Spetz 3 goals, 6 assists, 9 points. Gary Ragusa, Luke Campomenosi, Keith Doherty, and Keith Henning are tied with 6 points.

A tough schedule and a strong team add up to exciting hockey. We encourage all fans to come out to home games at Ice Vault to cheer on your Roadrunners. Check the team’s website at for the schedule-of-games. Also, follow the team on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Enjoy the show!
