NJIT hands Ramapo its sixth straight loss, 6-3.

NEWARK, NJ – Fleischmann’s hat trick boosts NJIT over Ramapo, 6-3.

NJITAlex Fleischmann opened the scoring for NJIT at 5:54 of the first period on assists by Kyle Bendel and William Hoer. Ramapo played good hard hitting hockey the rest of the first period. With just 15 seconds left in the period, Pat Anzano put an Andrew Galascio rebound into the NJIT net to knot the score at 1.

NJIT came out flying in the second period. Alex Fleischmann netted his second goal of the game at 1:11. Michael Crincoli and Michael Barrera assisted on the goal. With Nolan Ouelette in the penalty box, Michael Crincoli scored a power play goal at 7:37. David Ferrero was credited with an assist. Ramapo never stopped fighting back. Nolan Ouelette from Pat Anzano put Ramapo back within 1, 3-2 at 11:22. But NJIT had different ideas. Fleischmann scored his third goal of the game at 14:06 from Crincoli and Barrera. One minute and 24 seconds later at 15:30 NJIT notched its fourth goal of the period on Chris Murphy’s goal. David Ferrero and Matthew Lapinski assisted on the play. NJIT fired 21 shots on goal in the period.

Ramapo was determined to make it a game. Matt Rose connected on a pass from Dmitry Danilchik at 9:10. NJIT countered with a goal of their own at 17:48. William Hoer from Murphy and Ferrero closed out the scoring. With only 5 shots on goal in the entire period, Ramapo could not mount a strong offensive.

Ramapo’s next game is Sunday, January 24 at home against Suffolk.
