Kings Point third period goal defeats Ramapo 2-1

GREAT NECK, NY – Despite many good scoring opportunities, Ramapo droped a heartbreaker to the US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, 2-1.

MMARamapo opened the scoring at 5:57 when Nolan Ouelette scored on assists by Marc Concato and Keith Henning. Kings Point rallied to tie the score at 16:23 when Jeremy Guettlein put the puck in the back of the Ramapo net. Cory Durkin assisted on the play.

Neither team scored in the second period. Despite seven minor penalties and one misconduct penalty, Ramapo penalty killers held off Kings Point. There was a stretch late in the period where Ramapo was down 2 men for four minutes.

Going into the third period, the game remained tie 1-1 until Jacob Tomasovic scored the game winner at 13:13 for the Mariners. Kate McCabe was credited with an assist.

Kings Point travels to Monsey tomorrow to complete the home-and-home weekend.
