WAYNE, NJ – Coming off a crucial win against Quinnipiac the week before, it was important for the team to be focused. The team dropped one spot in the Atlantic Region rankings from third to fourth. The Roadrunners did not want to drop any further in the rankings. Like the game against Quinnipiac the previous week, Ramapo scored first and early. Eric Frieman scored at 2:01. Jason Musselman and David Sabato received assists. Neither team could put together much offense in the period until 15:43 when Keith Doherty scored on assists from Kyle DeBel and Bobby Spetz. The Roadrunners led 2-0 after one. Also like the Quinnipiac game, neither team scored in the second period. The third period opened with Doherty and Debel setting up Spetz. Ramapo took a commanding 3-0 lead. With the Roadrunners on a power play, a giveaway in the neutral zone led to a West Conn breakaway. Corey Dunn buried the puck in the Ramapo net at 8:06 to cut the score to 3-1. Ramapo added an insurance goal at 13:11. Spetz scored his second goal of the period to make the score 4-1. DeBel and Luke Campomenosi were awarded assists. Even though the Roadrunner posted a win, it was an uninspiring performance. The team lacked spirit and drive. On 2/8 Stony Brook comes into Ice Vault. The Seawolves are ranked 9th in the Atlantic region. They will surely be bringing their A-game hoping to move up in the rankings. The last time the two schools met was 1984. Game time is 8:15.
