An Update on the 2020-2021 Season

January 21, 2021

Mahwah, NJ – It is with great remorse the hockey program announces the official cancellation of the 2020-2021 season. This is of great disappointment to the players and staff. This decision was not made lightly. The coaching staff spent numerous hours discussing, analyzing, and debating what this season might look like if the team was given the chance to play. In the end, this was the most sensible decision with so many factors still unknown. The coaching staff would like to acknowledge and thank the graduating seniors for their commitment to the program over the past four years. The hope is to properly congratulate and honor these graduating seniors during a special event next season.

The coaching and support staff now turn their attention to the 2021-2022 season and are in frequent contact with one another in order to develop new ways to further grow and enhance the program. With a hopeful return to normalcy for the 2021-2022 season, Coach Winters is excited to implement several new ideas for the team. As the picture for next season becomes more clear, information will be shared on the team’s website and across their social media platforms. Any potential players who would like more information about the ice hockey program or are thinking of trying out for the team, may contact Head Coach Mike Winters at mwinters@ramapo.edu
