MAHWAH, NJ – Ramapo College Ice Hockey wraps up their pre-season looking to build on the success of their 2015-16 inaugural campaign. The team has been hard at work for nearly a month of rigorous preparation, beginning with a three-day training camp at their home rink, Sport-O-Rama in Monsey, NY from August 30-September 1. New Head Coach Bob Smith and Assistant Coaches Greg Jensen and Mark Puttenvink were impressed with the quality of play and skill the team brought to the ice during training camp.
With 14 players from returning for a second season, four new members round out the roster; the team has added Dan Demarco and Kyle DeBel at forward and Robert Spetz and Keith Doherty on defense. Returning players include forwards DJ Campbell, Dmitry Danilchik, Andrew Galascio, Josh Filipovits, Zach O’Connor, Ethan Puso, Matt Rose, and Andre Vicari; defenseman include Anthony Carudo, Marc Concato, and Keith Henning, and Ryan Worth; goaltenders are Keith Gay and Matt Clark.
Ramapo’s extensive pre-season training will prove to be of great benefit; their challenging 26 game schedule includes five more matchups than they faced last season. 14 of those games are in-conference amongst other MCHC teams, while the remaining 12 games will be against Division II competition.
The team will officially begin their season with the home opener at Sport-O-Rama against Muhlenberg College on September 25, at 5:00 pm. Tickets and team merchandise will be available for purchase at the door. Tickets are $3.00 for Ramapo College students with valid student ID and $5.00 for non-students.
